A thought occurs that, notwithstanding any benefits, could it be that one of the greatest dangers of social media and online publications (including Google, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, as well as leftist news sites, etc.) is that they create a space where the godless can congregate, educate, conspire, coordinate, disseminate? And, if men uninterested in glorifying God have a universal gathering hub provided by the internet, facilitating the planning and promotion of their dark agenda, isn’t it reminiscent of the Tower of Babel in Genesis 11 (only on a much larger scale)? Remember the Lord’s foreboding observation in v. 6: “…this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them.” (ESV)

If God did not allow the continuation of the construction of Babel back then by creating language differences, what might He do providentially to scatter people from the power of social media in today’s time?
