STUBBORNNESS CAN BE GOOD

Proverbs 29:1. He that being often reproved hardeneth his neck Shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

Stubbornness is not a good quality to have, but there are occasions when it is very profitable for a person to be stubborn. Wisdom knows when to apply this approach to life and when not. When one is stubborn in right matters, it’s not long before others take note and attempt to bring the one who is “stubborn in right matters” down. At the end of the day, the particular stubborn one can sleep at night. On the other hand, if one is stubborn in matters evil, stubborn in matters that can’t be rationally defended in light of the Lord’s word, then separation occurs between that one and his neighbor, perhaps even with the Lord. Stubbornness can be good, but it is frequently associated with that which is not good.
