DRIFTWOOD
Proverbs 4:1-2. Hear, my sons, the instruction of a father, And attend to know understanding: For I give you good doctrine; Forsake ye not my law. The other day was the day our youngest daughter was married. Her mother and I are proud of her in a great sort of way. It was not always that way, however. As she grew up, she took a path of resistance and rebellion. Time and again we warned, but she adopted her approach, and it was the way of many, a broad way. With the decision she made, the experiences of life started piling up on her is such a way it was more than she could handle. She reached, we answered. She saw the wisdom of the Lord’s approach and adopted it as her own. Now her ship sails with the wind behind her; the seas are not always smooth, but they would be even less so if the sails were gone and the ship was tossed back and forth as a piece of driftwood.
