Proverbs 24:1-2. Be not thou envious of evil men, neither desire to be with them. For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief (Prov. 24:1-2). Envy is associated with something one wants but does not have; there is desire to have it, perhaps the desire even consume the thinking processes of one who wants but does not have. The thoughtful person is to reflect on what is desired and the one who has it. By their fruits they will be known. Since this is so, then understand the object desired by the person who already has it gives daylight indication the path they are on is a destructive path.

Interesting, the studious dedication of some wicked people ("their heart studieth destruction"--or, as the ESV has it, "their hearts devise violence.").
